The State of Ohio recognizes the importance of cultivating internal talent. Lead Ohio is the state’s initiative to develop successful leaders at every level of state government by standardizing supervisor expectations, providing opportunities for networking, professional growth, and skill-building. 

Public Service Loan Forgiveness 

Working for the state government gives employees the unique opportunity to apply for student loan forgiveness after making 10 years of qualifying payment while working for the state government.

Education and Development Fund

The  State of Ohio offers a variety of educational and professional development funding that varies based on whether you are a union-exempt employee or a union-represented employee. Below we have a brief description of each unit.

The Employee Development Fund provides funding for professional development through participation in coursework that provides academic college credit; continuing education events, including professional conferences, seminars, and workshops; or work skills, computer, and technical training.
